Found a guy selling his gsxr front in my city.  Is $300 a good price?  Is it a direct swap or will there need to be some modifications?

i havent done it, but from what i've learned you need to modify the neck/stem to fit our frame and the rest bolts on. in addition you'll need a new brake master cylinder to compensate for the dual-disk front

you'll also need to find a way to mount all your gauges and lights because they wont just bolt onto the gsxr front end.
rustbucket on wheels that go vroom vroom and stuff.

If this freshershest-thread-ever gets spoiled by petty fighting, I'm gonna be so mad.

In my opinion... The front end swap is too much hassle for a street bike. The stock GS front end works perfectly fine on the street, and even on the rack track it's capable of keeping a very impressive pace with the mods I mentioned.

To use that front end, you'll also need to find a wheel with brakes and a set of calipers. Overall, you'll end up paying ~$500. A headlight setup may cost you another $100-$200 or so.

If you keep an eye open, you could probably find a front end with brake calipers, master cylinder, and a wheel for about $400-$500.

Okay... I was confused about the front end. You said the original owner changed springs, but mentioned that he used OEM springs. If it works fine for you, I'd advise you to throw on a Katana 600 shock. The stock shock is junk, and a Kat shock is available inexpensively.

Plus for $300 you could find newer USD forks off the 04+ gsxr600. That's the complete opposite of a starting mod though.

Ok I'm just gonna abandon the idea of a gsxr front swap lol.

The quote by Buddha says that "The long clevise Katana shock will fit a 96+ GS".  So I assume the shock wont fit my 93 GS without modification?  or are there shorter clevise Kat 600 shocks?
