anyone got a 2.2l cavalier?

I am helping a friend with a starter replacement and it was pretty straight forward except for the part where we wire the solenoid back up.  There are 4 wires total and, 2 of which go to the main voltage in and solenoid switch.  The other two, with no ends so it was rigged before (insert swearword of choice, i choos f%$k!!) are there and wired as they came off but no click, no nothing.

I just thought i would post and hope that someone can look at thier's and tell me, before i go at it with a volt meter and make it work  ....  Why do i volunteer all the time to save a friend a buck ...  :laugh: :laugh:

edit: I have seen online That all the cables should go on the main hot line except for the one that activates the solenoid.  I know that is not how it was when i took it apart, i just don't want to fry anything.  There should not be a ground wire coming from the starter being that it is grounded through the engine block, unless i am horribly mistaken. 

If it was mine i would just wire up a start button and call it a day :laugh: :laugh:
