OK I have heard moron's on TV say Tusami for tsunami, Miramar for Myannmar ... but atleast those were foreign languages.
This moron today said "She scratched the tip of the iceberg" ... WTH is wrong with these people. English isn't a free for all. You either scratched the surface, or its the tip of the iceberg. Both of those phrases stand for "I have only spoken a small part of what is the total knowledge base on this subject". WTF is "scratching the tip of the iceberg" Oh yea, its the titanic and its going to go under.

I have heard some horrible murder of foreign names and places on NPR, somehow the geriatric Diane Rheem is still on the freaking air, and bloody hell, I'd listen to anything but her. She is a political correspondent for chrissake, and Myannmar had been in the news for months when she decided to make it a suburb of Miami by calling it Miramar.
I dont think the interviewee gets a teleprompter. Soledad was not asking this time, she was answering.
