Well I'll start off by saying hello fellow GS riders. I'm a 30 yr old male from the Mississippi Gulf Coast and just bought my first bike which is the 07 GS500F. Haven't fully broke it in yet but i'm close.. Already have put over 400 miles on it so far and just got it on July 3rd. This is actually the first time I have ever rode one except on the back. I took a MSF course the last week of june and went and got the bike the first week of july and have loved every minute of it. I have only made 1 booboo so far. I placed the bike on the center stand and when I pulled it off the bike leaned to the left and I couldn't hold it up so I dropped it. NOt much damage just broke the end of the brake lever and jammed the right blinker up into the fairing and cracking it. Both are now fixed and it looks like new again. Great on gas prices since when I got it gas was up to $3.95 here. Hope to hear from you guys and be safe!!!

How do you post pictures on here?

Best to upload to Photobucket.com or the like and use the [IMG] codes.  A hearty welcome to you!  Hopefully the drop covers your first "accident" and you can be on your merry way!  :thumb:

Concrats on the bike and getting the first drop out of the way.  I was 23, 6'3 , and 280 lbs. when I got my GS.  All the local salesmen tried to sell me a bigger bike saying that the 500 was too small for me.  One even told me to ride without insurance that is what everyone else does because I said that I couldn't afford a bigger bike because of insurance.  Then, I contacted a great dealership an hour and a half away that was willing to work with I what I wanted and not selling me a bigger bike.  He even had to put it together before I got there because I wanted blue.

I say all that to say this, that was three years ago and thanks to this forum and the performance of my "little" 500 I am still happily riding.  I got my first drop out of the way in the garage.  Luckily I scratched the bar end and that was it.  Happy riding!

I really was looking at getting the black one but I couldn't find one anywhere... So I also got the Blue/White one.. I am having a blast with it to be honest with ya. I ride it everywhere except somewhere that I have to bring something back with me...
