Poor Man's Wheel Stripes

I went to the closest Cycle Gear location in Trussville today to get some wheel stripes.  The ones they had didn't come with an applicator and they didn't have a color I liked so I didn't get them.  On the way home I got to thinking that they are basically just $10 pin stripes if you don't get the applicator with them so I went by a parts store and grabbed some $2.99 pinstripping.  Total Savings $7.01  :)  I could decide between red or white so I got metallic silver to match the stripes on the bike.  They are not perfect but for the price and the 20 minute install time I think they look ok.

Nice one mate  :thumb:

I (stupidly) bought the Motrax stripes WITH the applicator........didnt/couldnt use it and done it by hand instead!

...added some matching valve caps and I am also, pleased with results.

Next up, gonna mesh my fairing holes up....should be cool.

Looks good NEWGS.  Wish I had gotten 1/4 inch now instead of 1/8.

I am a little bit of an ADD Insomniac sometimes so after the wifey went to bed I added a second stripe to get the thicker look.  It looks better.  I also decided to paint my windscreen but that is a different post, lol.

Nice one mate...looks good and if I may say, the double thickness looks good now. Looked fine enough with the thin stripes but the thicker tape now sets it off way better.  Good work man  :thumb:

MUCH better, and a great idea overall, but the first set of thin stripes looked like you'd had a couple 6 packs before you put them on...   ;)
The silver was an excellent choice too.
