I have had this bike for 3 years.  I started off with a fenderectomy and removed the reflectors.  Then, I added flushmounts on the front and license plate mounted signals in the rear.  I pretty much rode it that way until about a month ago when I got back on the forum and got lots of new ideas.  Thanks to all who inspired the new mods.  If I imitated something you did please don't be offended.  Remember, imitation is the greatest form of flattery.

This is the day I brought her home.

I really like the white on the seat. Helps it blend into the back of the bike

Cool! Looks like the 2010 model Suzuki GS. :thumb:
Well, either you're part of the problem, part of the solution,...

Where did you get the license plate mounted signals?  :thumb:

I picked them up at my local cycle gear but you can get them from cyclegear.com.  About 20 bucks if I remember correctly.

You can find 'em on Ebay also... here's a pair I was watching, but then forgot to bid on...  :cookoo:

I have been wanting to cover the seat like that for quite some time now, just never got around to starting the project. Where did you get the vynil for it, and did you just stretch it and staple to hold it on there?

nascarkeith

Thanks for all the positive comments.  A local fabric shop had the vinyl.  Half a yard is more than enough and cost about $8.  I just stapled one side then stretched it and stapled the other.  Then I did the best I could getting the rounded part around the back to smooth out and stapled it.

The air is out in the house, but thank the Lord it was cool outside tonight so I worked in the garage for a while.

I took these out and replaced them with some shiny new NGK plugs.

The parts store didn't have iridium so they are just regular NGK's.  While I was out there I took some left over pinstripping and went around the outside edge of my carbon fiber panels just to clean my lines up a little.  I think it looks better and blends well with the overall scheme of the bike.

I am thinking about repainting the windscreen black but that will be for another day if I decide to do it.

Wow looks great. Makes me want to ditch the FSD undertay and go with those turn signals, save myself a lot of money. Good job man.

nascarkeith

The FSD undertails are nice but that is a lot of money.  I stripped the windscreen and painted it black.  I think it looks much better.

Thanks for all the positive comments!

Seeing the lights on yours helped me make up my mind to go ahead and get them for my bike... I've been watching them on E-bay for quite awhile and was only going to get the rear signals, but if I went ahead and bought the Cateyes I got free shipping on them so why not...

I like the way they look!

nascarkeith

Good Deal! You probably almost got them free.  Shipping would have probably been about as much as the flushmounts were.  They make the gs look much better.  I know you'll like them.

I had been thinking of putting carbon fiber on my heel guard but just hadn't done it yet.  The other day I saw a post where it had been done and it looked good so I gave it a shot.  Here is what it looks like.  I think its going to look even better when my carbon fiber pegs come in.

Carbon Fiber Pegs got here.  They are the same ones mentioned in the wiki.  This was a super easy mod.  I never ride 2 up so I just jammed a washer in the rear pegs to hold them in place.  I need to get some daylight pics but the pegs came in today and I didn't get home to 9:30.  The OCD kicked in and I had to get them on there.  They look much better IMHO.
