Exhaust????????

So my question is ....... when dealing with exhaust systems are there stock exhausts for other bikes that would perform as an after market exhaust?  For example if i could get my hands on say an R1 or Hyabusa stock exhuast would that be considered a performance exhaust? And if there are stock exhaust that could be used as such which would they be?

Uhh, the R1 and the Hayabusa have 4 cylinder engines, I don't see how that would work... Perhaps if you got a friend with a GS who wanted to ride real close to you all the time....

You can make any muffler fit, not the whole exhaust just the can. A stock muffy from another bike is not really that much of a benefit, especially when going through the process of making (or having made) and installing a flange or a midpipe. Slip-ons are the easiest, just need a midpipe which any muffler shop can make for few bucks. Bolt-ons require a flange and possibly a midpipe.

all aftermarket pipes dont brake your bank. chech out ebay mabey u can find 1 used or something. i have some kind of cobra pipe on mine. it wasnt made 4 the gs but if fit without much modification and sounds great.  pretty low dollar pipe too. u can get a full VANCE HINES SUPERSPORT EXH SYSTEM for less than 271 bucks on ebay. mabey check that out.

Soo i have got a guy that i work with that was supposed to sell me his yoshi exhaust off his wrecked Kat for 50 bucks but we are working on different jobs now and i cant get him to answer my calls. go figure. so im kinda getting anxious. anyways thanks for the info.

It looks to me like the later "F" bikes have a bigger diameter outlet on the muffler than my '99.


This looks like 7/8" diameter.  What diameter do you have on yours?
