Hey guys!

So I couldn't keep myself away from a newer bike.. I picked up a 06 SV... My GS is sad already.. If anyone in Albuquerque is interested in the GS please PM me. Anyway.. On to the pictures!!!

Some quick questions.. I read on SVrider forum alot cause I have always dreamed of getting a SV, but I really dislike the way people act on the forum.. I was wondering who would I talk to on here about SV information because this forum is just way better in handling all kinds of questions. I didnt get a haynes manual for the bike yet, but I will shortly. Now there are some maintenance stuff that needs to be done on the bike, and I found a guy on craigslist who offered to show me how to take care of my bike. I am really going to miss this forum, on second thought, I just wont leave.. Everyone start buying SV's so we can start talking about that bike!

Sorry for the crappy quality pictures.. But I didn't have my camera on me.. Anyway, tell me what you think! Nothing is changed on the SV except debadging.. Well so far.. ;)

Nice work on the SV!  I think of the SV 650 as 30% more than the GS500.  It has 30% more power (only 10% worse fuel economy), is at least 30% better looking, and costs 30% more.

How would you compare the footpeg position on the two?  How about overall smoothness?

I love the idea of owning an sv someday. I gotta say though, I prefer the looks of the non-S model myself. That big happy single headlight seems more truthful. Other than aesthetics (and who cares about that?) there ain't much to complain about. :D

You have TWO sweet rides now though, and I'll bet you end up keeping them both if the money doesn't matter. :)

Your stable looks nice. Keep both of them and they will learn to like each other. :thumb:

I have not seen too many problems on SVrider, no more than others.

Another resource is TLPlanet.com. There are plenty of members with SV experience.

I have had several 1st gen SV, currently with an 01 being completely taken apart for a rebuild & modifications.

Enjoy your rides!
Common sense in not very common.

Thanks everyone! This morning I went to show my dad the bike before I sell it, and after riding it.. I miss it! I haven't actually pushed the SV at all.. There are things that need to be done before riding like new tires and changing oil and lubing chain(previous owner didnt lube it!). After that Ill give it a few rides and tell you what I think.

I wouldnt want to sell just the motor.. The bike is in awesome condition and I just recently finished the LED taillight retrofit. :) We do need to go for a ride though, I have a bunch of friends that want to do a ride to Taos before school starts.. If your interested ill keep you in the loop..

The SV has been my dream bike since I was a kid dreaming about bikes.. like I said before I haven't really pushed the bike yet, but for small riding, from previous owners house to my friends garage, I love it. But like many people on this board say, I want to keep both. I just cant. :( and.. I want to modify things on it already! Thanks GStwins!
