Hey all,

Just purchased a "new to me" '94 GS500E and am gearing up for riding in the cold north.  I'm looking at installing some in-grip heaters (Polly Heaters) much the same way they did here: http://www.canyonchasers.net/shop/generic/heated-grips.php  Without buying a new handlebar ('01 or later) - any ideas on how to remove the inserts that hold the bar-ends on?   Also, I'd welcome any experience anyone has with these and/or other heated grips.  Thanks (in advance) for all the pearls of wisdom.

Cheap and easy - buy some bikemaster bars for $20.

Difficult and annoying, and you need big toys - drill it out. It's welded in, as far as I can tell. You'll need a very good clamp to hold it, and a pretty good drill press to drill it.
1990 GS500EL - with moderately-ugly paintjob.
1982 XJ650LJ -  off the road for slow repairs
