It cost around $1k.  wth... it almost just makes you want to buy an aftermarket instead.. makes no sense.

all oem parts are like that. Factor in the overhead that goes into storing and shipping those things and thats why its so high. Look at the price on fairings for some real shock value.

Look for it used, from all those other people who swap out a perfectly good exhaust for aftermarket.

For $1K, I bought a whole GS. Take the exhaust, sell the rest, you're doing OK...
1990 GS500EL - with moderately-ugly paintjob.
1982 XJ650LJ -  off the road for slow repairs

And.. sometimes, you can buy a GS w/ a Yosh exhaust like me for $150! Whole bike

Yea stock exhaust ... not worth the cost of shipping it.
I think costs on new stuff is high cos the manufacturers want bikes to get totalled and people to take the $$ and buy new bikes. 1/2 of retail is total BS in many cases that junkyards try to get for them too, but walk in asking for one and they have you made for a fool.

Are you just asking a rhetorical question or do you need an exhaust system?  :icon_confused:

If you do need a full system, see ebay . . .

Slight cosmetic damage to the muffler cover by the looks of the photo, but you might be able to buff it out or replace the cover with a new piece of stainless, grab my old one from me (see below) or just live wih it as is.

If you just need a stock muffler, I have one in great shape with 37,000km on it that I just cut off my 2006 GS500F and replaced with a Supertrapp Internal Stainless. You can have my old stock muffler for free, if you just pay for the shipping. (It might even fit in the shipping box my other muffler came in.) I cut it cleanly at the same angle as the weld at the intake and just below the weld so it could be reused by somebody; just have to cut off the old one and have it welded on. It's in great shape. I had to alter the stock pipes to fit the Supertrapp, so I'll never use it again.

Yea one more of those 1/2 of retail morons. Ebay has actually turned a lot of business models unprofitable, everyone who has a bike that broke, can now have a junkyard. Take that morons.

That is the exact reason why I went over to Jardine, Stage 3 jet kit (Factory Pro) and a lunchbox filter. It was still cheaper by several hundred bucks at the end of the day.

Figure that out, eh?

You can buy a brand new motorcycle for $8000. You can also buy all the same pieces seperately and it will cost you over $50,000
Seemed like a good idea at the time
