Here's a shot of what they look like on the bike from a distance... damn I love the GS ;-)

Okay, this is off topic but since they've sold, I don't feel as bad about the minor threadjack.  :icon_mrgreen:

facepants, do you find that the stock SV mirrors are hard to use with clipons? I did clipon install this weekend (which I'll write up later) and my right mirror is essentially useless now. I can't get it further up the bar because of the master cylinder butting up against the clipon.

My left mirror is totally fine because it's literally half an inch further up the bar.

Any advice would be appreciated!

And, your GS is HOT!!! Cleaned up a bit, that could be a great "December" shot with all those lights reflecting off the tank and plastics. In which area of the bay area are you? You should join some of the group rides!

You still have master cyl hitting dash ??? you dont have room outside to slide it out ... did I send you too short handle tubes ???
Cool.

Hey Buddha,

I'll email you. Sorry, didn't mean to bring it to another post. I was going to email you but seeing his mirrors reminded me. I'll send you some pics so you can see what I'm talking about.  :thumb:

"hella angel eyes"  I like 'em... about a third of the price of dominators.  I want to recess that whole thing back into the forks though... to me it looks like they stick out too far.

The sv mirrors work perfectly for me.  I wish I could give you some advice, but I cant really see where the right mirror would be touching anything....

I'm near fremont.. but I'm not really the social type, so I go it alone ;-)

Hmm. It's not so much that the right mirror is touching anything. It's that the brake reservoir/master cylinder bumps into the clip-on. And since that's what the mirror mounts to, it ends up sitting lower than the left ... rendering it useless as a mirror.

Well, if you ever decide to be social, it'll be good to meet ya. Otherwise, I'll keep my eyes peeled for that great lookin' bike when I'm on the east bay.  :thumb:

Ahh.. I see what you're saying.  Here's a shot of my setup.  I guess it'd be the design of your clips...

pronator

Thanks for the pic! Yes, that's exactly what my problem is - clearing the actual clip, which yours does with no problems.

But there's definitely interference with the stock '89s. I guess most folks don't run into this because when they go to clipons, they also go to bar end mirrors? Or if they're running stock, the stocks sit a bit higher. I don't know. I still have to post those pics.

But again, thanks for the photo. Much appreciated!  :thumb:

Pronator - you do realise he has no dash right. I know cos its sitting in my garage.  He also doesn't have a top tiple clamp either (also my garage).
Cool.
