Just got back from the trip to Idaho

What a blast! We went through Nevada and Oregon, which, by the way, gets two thumbs up and my full recommendation for places to avoid. I've taken pictures but havent developed them yet. Most of the pics were taken at 80 mph on the GS so I'm not yet sure how they'll turn out.
We traveled the east side up to the Canadian border.
It went from 110F to 35F and hailing/thunder in one day..Which should bring to my apparel review -- but I'll save that for another time.

The GS performed like a champ. Absolutely NO mechanical problems the whole time. But Sadly I feel, after this experience I am more than convinced, that I've outgrown the GS and pushed it to its limits; only wanting more. I know its a bigger bike bug, and I've had this bug for a while, but I just dont have that adrenaline rush..

So, my question is -- how much could I get for my 2006 GS500F with 15K miles on it that has been dropped at 0mph twice (cosmetic scratches) ??

The only problems I've had with it are the petcock, but I since replaced it with a new one a few months ago and cut the little fun bags off the plate and it works on all "settings"

What made you dislike Oregon? Where in Oregon were you? The Willamette Valley, and coastline are absolutely gorgeous, and besides if you are from California- I invite you to stay there! We have enough of you people up here already!

I went up through the east side of OR on the 95 through Rome and the Jordan Valley. We were gonna ride the 101 but was short on time so we took the quickest route. I cant stand the desert, which as I understand it, NV and OR are mostly desert with the usual exceptions. The speed limit was 55 and after about 200 miles ya start to ask yourself "WHY?!"

Yeah, you didn't really see why Oregon rocks then. The eastern 2/3rds kinda suck (all high desert) and especially out there the 55mph speed limit is retarded- thankfully hardly anyone obeys or enforces it. If you want to see why Oregon kicks ass, come to Salem or Portland (watch out for hippies in PDX tho...) I'd be happy to show another jarhead some epic motorcycling terrain and why Oregon really is kick-ass. Just not where you were...

You'd think so, but that must be where some of the revenue comes from cuz they have lots of troopers out there hiding in the weirdest places..Whats so bad about the hippies? I'll just bring my squirt bottle and spray them with water, or have they developed a tolerance?

Outgrown it?  Not unless you're 10' tall and weigh 600 lbs. 

You haven't even begun to find the limits of the GS.  Save up some cash and go race it.  It has a lot left to teach you.

I've put 3k on my GS this summer and I keep thinking I'm outgrowing it but then I take it on a twisty back road and realize why it is such an awesome bike.
1. Easy as pie to work on
2. Reliable as can be
3. handles like a dream
4. comfortable

I may get a second bike but I think the GS is a keeper.
