Fairing Frame Sliders?

I've read through the topics looking for some information for fairing mounted frame sliders.  Yes I do realize these would be useless in pretty much any circumstance the motorcycle is moving.  However I know of a short rider (my girlfriend) that has already shaved the seat and still tends to drop the motorcycle from time to time.  I've already checked wiki and found a picture with NO information on the setup itself.

What bolt do I need to make this work?  I imagine the sliders have a much larger bolt than the fairing bolt, and of course the fairing bolt is both too short and has the wide hex head on it.

here's a bike that has the setup I think may help lower damage received during 0mph accidents.

She's on her 3rd bike and has been riding 2 years and has 30k under her belt. She wouldnt ride the bike without the fairings anyways, not counting the fact that you are exposing your more vital parts to scraping, etc. 

I wish her bike would have had its farings on for her one accident while she was learning, A good scrape on the frame and a badly dented tank which would mostly have been avoided. (Her fairings eventually were scraped anyways once on the bike)

Any suggestions from anyone for what screw will fit the sliders to the fairing bolt properly?

get the lowering links for her bike, it will make it lower.. shaving the seat?? i woulda done the links first. you also may as well get normal frame sliders if your gonna get any and just drill the hole in the fairings.

Buy hockey pucks.

Take out the fairing bolts, or one if they are all the same size (me got E, dunno 'bout them new-fangled F things).

Go to good hardware store, look in the metric hardware section - no metric hardware section == not good hardware store. Find the nut to match your fairing bolt. Note size, put it back. Now find bolts that size, but longer - about the thickness of a hockey puck longer.

Drill the hockey pucks so the bolt goes through, and the head of the bolt sits down inside (through-drill small hole, counterbore large hole - if using cheap wood drills, drill the big hole half-way through, then drill the small hole all the way through). If using socket heads, big hole can be tight fit - if using hex heads, you need enough room for a socket to go on the head of the bolt.

Put long bolts through hockey pucks, bolt onto fairing.

If that does not stick out far enough for you, increase bolt length (2 hockey pucks longer, 3 hockey pucks longer...) and use more than one hockey puck. You can stack black and orange ones for contrast.

If you cannot get "perfect" length bolts, buy slightly longer and grind shorter, then fix the end threads with a triangular file.

I have longer length engine bolts ... and nylock nuts for them. These are 12 inch grip length (they are closer to 13 + inch length) ... yours for $10 and shipping.
You would replace the engine bolts with these, and there are sliders that you fit to either side drill the fairing and they stick through. You only need 1 bolt for that top front engine bolt.
