I keep seeing them lately and now I want one.  Where do I get one?  It's a little oil temp gauge built into a plug that fits your oil filler cap.

Google weksler. Its an oil thermometer you are looking for. Also google therma tru I think.
I ahve an old catalog somewhere, I think though at revs, the dipstick is in air not oil.

But to get serious with this idea - take off the round cover and under the advancer you have a oil switch. Fit a dual output switch (pressure and temp) there - its a tapered 1/8th pipe thread - easy to fit a dual to, and run the wires off it to a dual readout guage.

Its safer that tapping into the oil galley plug - like I did back in 97 and blew a guage and sprayed myself with oil, got stranded off the side of I5, then walked to the nearest exit ... called my machinist shop where my wife was going (and I was supposed to catch her in a few mins) ... told them I had bike trouble, she turns around comes back, sees the bike, assumes I have walked home (5- miles) and keeps going as she sees me walk down the exit ramp, and tries to take the exit she just passed, and rolls the truck.

So OK do that round cover oil switch thing.

Mak71,
Look at this.
I have the same one on my '01 GS, I suppose only the thread/pitch/probe length etc. changes accordingly.

Hope it helps. ;)

Frankie...have you ever owned a CX?

Thanks Simon...I've seen that one and it's about my favorite, but I'm hoping to find one that isn't $50.  Looks like the going rate, though.

speaking of running a f150 into the ground. i had 1 97 4wd f150 ext cab that had 333,800 miles on it when i traded for a jeep. still ran good, but decided not to push my luck.

My truck will prolly not see that kinda mileage unless gas drops back into the $2 range. I had to run it on premium due to the sizzling sound it would make under acceleration. I'll prolly see 200K though, but otherwise it be sitting for most of the week.
