A beautiful day to ride...

Both of my local hardware stores no longer carry Deft lacquer (wood finish). Given that I just spent 3 days scraping off some useless crap that failed to adhere to the previous finish (despite having sanded it before applying), and that I then started in with the last can of Deft I had on hand (bought at one of the local stores) and it was working very well, I was rather irritated to find that they had no more (though they had plenty of the crap I just spent 3 days peeling off).

So I went web searching last night and found that hardware stores in New York state might still carry it. After a bit of a foggy start, today came up very nice - sunny but cool, perfect riding weather. Threw on a backpack and the Aerostich and headed off for New York - lots of folks out riding this Sunday morning, and everybody waved, though one kid on some sort of sport bike might have been waving the one finger salute for some reason known only to himself - I wasn't quite clear, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on that. Even saw a sidecar rig out - I think Harley-based, but any sidecar rig is a good sidecar rig, at least up until I have to maintain it, and then (if then ever comes) I might get a bit more picky. 30 pleasant, mildly twisty miles later I found that I could still get the stuff I wanted without resorting to mail order, and headed home again.
