Anyone know if there is a "better" battery than stock? The screw that is for the positive cannot barely screw in with so much wire i added to that side.  I still have heated grips.  Cigarette lighter for my gps unit.  to add to the plus side.  I am going to either need a bigger screw or maybe just an initial thick wire coming out  of the positive side and i connect all these peripherals off of that.

Good idea? Bad?

Another question off somewhat same subject.

I installed nautilus horn.  Every time i use it. at least at night.. i can see my headlight dim..  is that a bad thing?

might wanna install a headlight interrupt since you have big draws on the charging system. it helps with starting on cool mornings.

good ideas to me. whether the gs's charging system can handle it all (and you have to keep the rpm's over 4-5k) is another thing.

the horn dims because the amp draw from that horn. do you have a relay to feed power directly from the battery ?

Good idea. It may even fix the other problem if you are getting a lot of voltage loss in your bunch of connections.

Install an accessory fused block for the peripherals and then only one extra wire comes off the battery.  Try www.electricalconnection.com and pm Lewis if you do not see what Ya want.  Great folks to deal with.

There is no need to bring everything off the + terminal. If you are going to power an accessory the safest and most convenient way is to tap into the Orange cable in the headlamp bowl with a Scotchlock or something similar. The orange is fused and is only live with the ignition on so there is no chance of flattening the battery by leaving something turned on. Powering your bigger horn via a seperate fused circuit using a relay and a heavier gauge cable than stock will go some way towards reducing voltage drop in the rest of the electrical system.

Thank you for your input.  I will definitely look into rewiring the battery section.
