BOTH SETS SOLD THANKS!!

I used these as track tires, so the centers are almost new!  8)  They're less than a year old (I put them on last October, took them off a few weekends ago) and should make great street tires for someone. The edges are pretty ragged, but there is still tread all around, it's just quite a bit lower near the edges. They were still sticking fine when I pulled them off. They've never been punctured or repaired, and of course no cracking or dry rot or anything. As a bonus, people will think you're a super bad-ass when they see your tires.

$225-$250 new, how about $55 + shipping. Likely another $25 or so, I'm not sure. Pickup is fine too of course.

not quite.  but have you SEEN the crap that imitates actual tires on my Hurricane lately?  mismatched, pinched in the rim ancient ass crap is what I've got front and rear.

honestly I have no idea. I don't put a whole lot of street miles on my tires, and I'm a pretty new rider, so I don't know what to expect. I can say that the centers of these have almost as much tread on them as the new ones I put on. I could actually take some measurements of that tonight and verify if you like. Obviously the sides have significantly less, but for street use, commuting, I'd think they would last almost as long as a new set.

Mdow

haha ya i have riden his bike and hes not lieing the centers really do have more tread then the side

FWIW, here's a comparison (in inches) of my almost new and used sets:

New Front
0.2 center tread depth
0.16 closer to edge

Used Front
0.16 center tread depth
0.08 lowest I could find close to edge

New Rear
0.24 pretty much everywhere

Used Rear
0.2 center
0.16 closer to edge

So overall it appears there's half the tread left near the edges and more like 80% left on the centers. And of course they're only a year old, rubber is in good shape. And by nature of the low pegs and me not being super awesome, there's still a tiny stripe of tread near the edges that's never seen the pavement.

Helpful?  :dunno_white:

hmm. I'm going to get to hang onto these until next season aren't I.  :dunno_white:

Whats with the ragged treads? Is that just from being used on the track?

ecpreston

well yeah, that's just what tires do on track. Bits of tread get peeled off, wear is much faster, and since the tire's hot it also picks up rubber from others.

yes! And now that we got a few nice days, these are still for sale!

just a suggestion, but maybe if you cleaned them up and re-photograph you might get more interest  :dunno_white:

I remember seeing these before I bought my new tires but I didn't like all the rubber chunks hanging off the sides.
