I'm heading out with a buddy of mine tomorrow from CT to Indy Motorspeedway  for this weekend's GP race.  Anybody have any last minute advice or tips?  We will be averaging about 300 miles a day, no interstates.

The bike has had a pretty good once over, oil changed, plugs changed, air filter cleaned, valves adjusted, new tires.  I'm using Nelson Rigg soft saddle bags and I'm strapping a backpack to the tail.  I'm bringing the basic tools and safety items.  What else am I missing?

Check tire pressure. And take it easy on those new tires (for the first little while, anyways).

And take some photos for the rest of us!!!

The tires have already been scrubbed in.

I'm planning on taking as many pictures as possible.  I think we will be able to take a fairly leisurely pace with the mileage goals we have for each day which should allow for a lot of photo stops.

Install the cigarette lighter socket on the battery if you are going to be in remote areas without cell phone reception.  Most new phones will jack up the power to the antenna if there is no cell phone reception and your phone will be dead in just a few hours.  The cigarette lighter socket is an ultra cheap mod that really is nice to have if you happen to leave your phone on in the middle of nowhere.  You can pick up a universal cigarette lighter socket at any auto parts store.
