My GSX-R turn signals with shortened stalks

I picked up this full set of stock GSX-R 1000 turn signals off a 2003 for $50.  I really like the way they looked and the fact that they are OEM DOT approved signals gave me piece of mind that I would be seen when I need to turn. Once I got them and test fitted one. I decided very quickly that I wanted to shorten the stock stalks to pull them in as close to the body as possible. After some planing, drilling, cutting, dremeling and a trip to the hardware store, this was the outcome. I am very satisfied with the looks of them compared to the stock GS signals. They seem to fit the lines of the bike so much better than those big "bug eye" looking blinkers. I think the stalks also look like they are actually meant to be this way. I did notice they flash slightly faster than the originals but it is barely noticable...nothing like the super fast flashing when a bulb is burned out. Anyway, just thought I'd share. Let me know what you think!

They look better than stock super wide ones.  I still like the look of mini's or integrators but those will get you noticed and look good on the bike.  Good pics to illustrate your mod.

looks good mate  :thumb: :thumb:

The gsxr has different end connectors on its wires. But its a simple case of buying some bullet ends, stripping the wire and attaching them.   :thumb:

honestly, I like those alot over the stock signals.  I"m running Yamaha R6 signals on the tail of my CBR because, well damned if I know why but they look decent and are bright enough.    stock parts are awesome when modified just right.   DOT approved so no worries about police saying they're illegal, provided they're visible.
looking for a new vehicle again.

I will post some more pics soon. As far as modified wiring goes, I dodn't change a thing. I simply used butt connectors and crimped the wires together. The only diffence I saw is the GSX-R's use a wedge style bulb so there is no hot/ground wire like the stockers...either way you flip the wires, they still work. (notice both wires have the same markings).
