Yeah I know I contributed to the problem but I have a pregnant wife at home so I can't take the chance of ending up without fuel.  With stations already out in the Houston area they will get their gas first and it could be next week before the ones in our area get more.  I know its a lot of bull with prices being raised and then people panic and drive the price up even more.  Its all crazy but I felt like I needed to feel the truck up in the best interest of my family.

there was no shortage, at all.

people filled their cars, boats, vans, RV's, gas cans, in the hopes of staving off a little gas hike.

the average person filled their SUV and spent $10 less than had they just waited for the price to drop again (if ever). $10.

Now, since 10 million people did that, there was a REASON to stiff people.

The wife watched as an attendant put bags over the 87 octane pumps in Tampa. A woman pulled in and demanded some kind of ticket showing fuel levels from that morning. The attendant pulled the bags off very sheepishly, and as she left, they put bags on again. All the stations were covering 87, but apparently there was no end to the 93 (at $4.60/gallon).

Amazing.

While we're on the subject, there is not a 50 cent difference in 87 and 93 octane. People are just 50 cents dumber.

only civilians are happy to get mre's :)

You can say that again.
I was talking to an Army recruit that's leaving for BCT in a few months and he was asking if he should get a few MRE's to practice eating them and shaZam!.  I just looked at him like he raped Jesus and told him he didn't want to eat anymore of those damn things than he absolutely had to.

Lmao!  Yeah, I really did not like them at all. Sometimes, when really hungry, they did ok.  But man I loved our chow at 1/19 and 2/19.  It was proll ythe best mass produced food Ive ever ate...I dare say some of the best food period.  The tuna was off the chain.

But yeah, Even gas here in kentucky went up...not by much cmopared to other states mind you, like 3.99 from 3.55ish. I was very suprised at how quickly it went down too.  Like its already back down to 3.58.  wierd huh.  lol.
I guess were lucky.
I miss when gas was 1.10 a gallon.   :dunno_white:
