I was wondering which would be a better overall exhaust- Hindle or Yoshimura?  Im also curious if anyone has used a Hindle exhaust. From what i've pulled up on youtube it sounds good. Yoshi also has that deep sound that im looking for so as far as exhaust's go i dont know what would be the better exhaust. :dunno_white: Thanks for all your help.

It depends what your criteria for 'better' is... loudness, depth of note, visual appeal, performance gain, ease of installation, price...

I have a Yoshi TRS - it was incredibly easy to install and not too expensive. Its shape is certainly different to most.  I like the fact that it comes with a removable baffle, so you can quieten it down if you desire - I'd definitely recommend getting one with that option whatever way you go.

Other than that it's all about personal preference and opinion.  You won't notice any performance difference between them - a bike like a GS isn't going to get an astronomical performance increase from the exhaust anyway.  So it really comes down to those other factors and personal taste.

Perhaps if you can expand on the stand-out features you're looking for people will be better placed to make suggestions.

How much did you pay for yours? Because I can only find them for $390- $440 on ebay.. And that seems kind of high for a slip on.. (Although I do like the different shape a lot better than the round/oval exhausts)

I just bought a Slip-on Yoshimura carbon-fiber TRS on E-bay for $130 shipped used( slight rash on the tip). I love the deep soond and it makes great power. It cost $65 to have a pipe bent and welded to the headder and can( Minakee made me bring my tools to take off cause they wouldnt weld it on the bike). I then wrapped it w/ headder wrap and sprayed it w/ black silicone headder wrap spray and cured it w/ it on and the engine running.

Make sure you dont cut your pipe till you have new jets ready to go in and know you have someone to weld it up!!! I rode arround for 2 days w/ my pipe cit off @ the collector(loud as hell) till i put on one of those accordian pipes and clamps on looking for a welder. Most people quoted me $90-100 when my loud ass rolled needing help. I hate gougers! just try and line it all up before you start in so you wont have the down time, plus your bike will never feel the same anymore so enjoy the ride to compare to the new power youll be getting.

So the can wasn't GS specific?

No, my can was a slip-on for an R6 but didn't come with a mid-pipe. I had one fabbed up @ minakee. I went with a can that fit a 600 cc bike( as close to ours as possible) and chose one that had a stainless pipe to insert the mid-pipe so that way i could weld the pipe straight to the can( can=stainless, mid-pipe=mild steele).

here's one or two off e-bay

I got mine for a hair over $300 from Starcycle. Expensive? - that depends.  In Australia you'll be hard pressed to find any aftermarket exhaust for less than $600.  In that light I'd say I did okay.

It will work, but it needs the flange that mounts the can to the headder, this flange is hard to make and would be a little harder for someone to fab up just one. if the flange and pipe come with it then you can just cut most of the pipe and mate it to your headder. My can has pipe coming out of both ends, i think this was the post.

I appreciate everyones suggestions and help. In everyones opinion which exhaust is the best one for sound and performance. I realize i need to rejet before i get an exhaust but Im still confused on which one to go with. It sounds like most people go with the yoshi. Thanks again, you guys are very helpful.  :thumb:
