I'm looking at the microfiche on bikebandit and it says the sprocket side is 25X62X17.  I know that the bearing is 62mm long, 17mm ID, and 25mm OD.  But there's two bearings on either side of the that one that are described as 17X47X14...can someone define what the hell the dimensions are on that pos?

There are actually 3 bearings in there Mak..........

Rear wheel spins on two of 6303 2RS.  ID=17 OD=47 Depth=14.... Part#14
There is also a bearing in the cush-drive, one of  6305 2RS ID=25 OD=62 Depth=17... Part#15

On the microfiche, what's that long bastard in the middle?

I'm trying to decide whether it'll be easier to get 15mm bearings and use the stock CX rear axle or to turn down a GS rear axle to fit the CX final drive.

Part #13?
Its just a spacer, it fits between the 2 wheel bearings and the axlebolt passes thru the middle of it.

shaZam! half the fiches list it as a bearing.  I'll still need to do something, though, if I go with the 15mm axle because I'm sure those 14mm wide bearings won't support the bike by themselves for very long.

Is the GS500 rear axle solid?

meh...I'll just turn down a stock GS shaft.

Are they straight or is one end a larger diameter to pull against the wheel?

sledge

There is a shoulder at the head-end (on the right in the pic).........but if you turn it down and loose 1mm off the dia` you will also loose most of the thread.

I'd have to turn it down 2mm and hopefully I'll take all the thread.  The CX final drive is setup for a 15mm shaft.  I'll just cut new threads.

What's the diameter of the shoulder...if you know...?
