Does anyone have an engine oil cooler?

I'm rebuilding a 2001, just got cases from a 2005. The 2005 oil pan has fittings for an oil cooler. Does anyone have this cooler to sell? If not I need to do some mods so oil will flow correctly. Anyone ever done this? :cookoo:

Put your pan on the new motor and toss the oil cooler. Its a POS and nothing but trouble ... just shitty design. They didn't fit a higher volume oil pump, didn't bump up the drive gearing, didn't fit a pressure valve didn't do squat ... 01 out in the open without that fairing will work better without that cooler.

I am working on the cooler conversion, but at a minimum, I'dd put a check valve in it and run a taller gearing on the oil pump, heck I'll do that anyway ... maybe make and sell it.
BTW, 05 dont have tacho drive in the head either ... 01 dont need it but its cam did have that drive and it dod have a plug in the head with all the tach parts inside of it.

Now to make it all worse, they made the damn GS a 30 year old oil cooled design look just like the GSXR 1000 a 2 year old design with 2 X the displacement, 10X the manufacturing cost, 100,0000 times the R&D budget ... so squids who couldn't tell were flogging it to keep up with their buddies on the GSXR ... it looks just like it, so it should run like it ... as in a yellow colored striped kitty cat should work like a tiger.

Perfect combo of a squidly and cheap audience meeting a inherent design flaw ...

OK, OK, thanks Buddha for the input. By looking at the two, I need to do more than just put the 01 pan on. Need to seal passageway from oil pump through cooler otherwise it looks like the oil circuit will just dump back into the sump. Don't want to make a bad design even worse.

BTW... if one really thought that form the looks of things a GS500Fer was as hot as a GXSer 1000, then one may need new specs. Just a thought.

I think a stock o1 pan has a block off in that location in the pan. Looked like to get an oil cooler on my 89-00 motor all I had to do was put a pan on.

On the 05 pan there is a horizontal oil passage that runs to the rear of the pan from the cooler hoses. Inside there is a vertical passage the couples with this horizontal passage to one side of the oil pump. On the 01 lower case this vertical passage does not exist. I would think that if your lower case does not have the correct internal passage ways then the oil cooler addition would not work too effectively. I will try to take some pics to illustrate the difference.
