Anyone interested in a National Cycle F-16 tall shield? I have one on my bike, but I am going to save for a Plexifairing GT as I plan on going on some longer trips this summer. Until then I can ride naked and use the money to get some jets from the Buddha. I paid 70 plus shipping for it and it still looks great with a few scratches where the adjusters fit on at the point where it mounts to the headlight. I want $35 shipped for the thing. I'll post some pics of it when I get it off my bike. You can see it on the bike in the photo gallery.

How well does the winshield work, most of the windshield/screens i see on these bikes dont look like they do a whole hell of a lot as far as keeping the wind from beating on a guy.
i really like how you have your bike setup, looks like a real nice touring outfit. :thumb:

Thanks I want to take some long trips. When I bought it I thought it would fit the bill. It is great for long rides, giving you something to tuck behind and keeping the wind off your chest, but I don't want to tuck for days on end. So the long and short is fine for riding but I wouldn't want it for a long tour. I plan on getting a Plexifairing GT that I will put on for long trips. My daily commute  is all in town so naked works fine for that.

i put the same windscreen on my 01 gs and it worked great and looked even better. i do not have a problem recommending it.

mate, if you still want to part with it, I'm going to be doing some light touring soon (sweet setup btw ... love your bags), and if you'd be willing to part with it for around 25 shipped, I'd go for it. If you've decided to hang onto it, that's awesome too.

Thanks. I love the bags. I put the shield back on the bike and have decided to keep it for awhile. If you are going to tour on your bike I would save for a Plexifairing GT. I am going to get one when I get the cash together. I'll most likely put the F-16 back for sale at that time.

Thanks for the tip mark. Unfortunately, I have to hit the road for about 1200 miles two weeks from now. Might be a very windy journey. With flight prices so high, and no amtrak services .... well, I'm taking the ol' bike.

Do you still want to sell this? I'll totally buy it for $35 shipped. I use Paypal. Email me at 'emartoo@hotmail.com'

So gmark,
Hi there,
Hey, did you ever install a Plexifairing GT on your GS500?
Did it fit?
Any problems installing it?
What mounting kit did you use?
Do you have any photos of it mounted on your bike?
Do you like it?
I'd love to get one of them, but National Cycle didn't think it would fit.
I have their F-16 windscreen and I like it but I'd rather have the extra coverage of the GT for the winter here in PA.
Please let me know, and thanks!
Yours,
