Hello,
I switched the stock indicators against aftermarkets today. When I did so I pulled a little bit on the wire on the right front side, which made the flash go off, after
reconnecting it it went back on. So I proceeded to tape the wires with electrical tape so it would be more protected, but when I did that everythig went off.

Now: Electric works for Front- Rearlight, Breaklight, Horn, etc
BUT MY TURNLIGHTS wont work, not even the little light at the gauges ...
what can I do?

Niko

or does anybody know where the relay is located, maybe it's broken

NickfurY

Flasher relay is located on the right hand side of the tail fairing. take the seat off and the right side tail fairing off and there is a small cyclinder shape piece with 2 prong. it should be covered with a rubber housing. realy has a part # of 552 which you can use any automotive/cycle relay with that same P/N.

Niko

how big is it (approx.) and is it out of metal, or covered with ductape?

Niko

I found the relay, and tested it, it is still working ...  I dont know what to do ... I cant affored to take it to the shop.
After I installed the turnsignals everything worked fine until I put tape around them, now non of the turnsignals work
not even that little button unter the rpm and mph gauges ... anybody any idea? please

1. If the lights aren't working, how did you test the relay???
2. Try putting the old signals back (at least one side) and see if it works.

Niko

1. You can take the relay out and test it
2. old ones dont work either

Skeets

I installed aftermarket turn signals too, they never worked properly. The relay died and I had to buy another. I think it's a bad idea for aftermarket items (electrical) for the gs500.

Niko

How many fuses are in the GS I only checked the one right under the seat the 20a fuse (an yes not the spare :))  ... anybody any idea?

use hand signals for now.  You probably pulled the main power wire or the ground to it off. I would start by tracing my wires to check for proper continuity. Then if that doesnt work i would jumper wire test each one seperately.. To see if they work.

Start by checking out the wiring diagram maybe?
