Actually, the clip-ons aren't that nice, I took a ride for about 1/2 hour on some pretty pavement (the only twisty and reasonably empty stretch of road nearby) and my wrists began to ache from all the suspension action, though this is more the fault of the road than the clip-ons, but I think the riding posistion also contributed.
It would be nice to sit more upright, but I'm not going to switch to a handlebar. After I get used to it, the problems will likely go away

Frankie, what year GS400? Mine's a '93, apparently imported from Japan, so I guess it's not the same type you saw
