I  Make sure you're using full throttle if you want it to scoot.  It's got a long throttle throw.  As per Q #1, it won't rev correctly until it's warm and off of the choke.
PLEASE forgive the thread hijack, but anyone know of a shorter-throw throttle that'll fit a GS? I'm getting comfortable on the GS and find the constant regripping tedious at times. Thanx!

Do a forum search. I think the there is an SV throttle tube out there that has a shorter throw and will work with the GS. I know it is out there..

That's the one. Thanks!

I've got to test the theory, but I believe there is a Yamaha R6 tube that will also work, and has the added bonus of being a higher rate throttle without the adapter, so just put the tube on and you're done.  Once I can track down the exact details again, and test I'll report back.

Cool, a cheaper way of doing it would be sweet...

We already know we can use an SV650 throttle tube sans mods...  So it'd stand to reason that a throttle upgrade that is a bolt on for an SV650 would work, right?

I think I can waste $8 to find out if it works. : )

That makes a lot of sense to me. Let me know how that works out. Seems well worth $8 if it improves the throw...
