My brakes started squeeling today, I think i'm going to sell an extra motor i have. running when i pulled from bike. motor only, no starter, stator, signal generator, or neutral switch. Ran well, looks ok needs paint and looking like a new valve cover gasket. $300 + shipping and crating, will package well if shipped.

I pulled the valve cover yesterday, looks good. like it says i will crate and bolt engine to it. if you need starter $80, stator $60, generator $50, no neutral switch. All for $425+ sh&c.

Heres the good, the bad and the ugly. The engine was in my bike when I bought it in 2001. I switched it about a  mo. later cause i was a newby and thought something was wrong cause it wouldnt start after a few trys when it stalled on me one day. I thought it was broken so bought another from a guy that said it had low miles for $450. after i had purchased the engine, i found this site and found the problem was my stupidity. The sidestand was down and it was in gear so it wouldnt even turn over. all started cause i ran out of fuel and purchased the motor before i fixed. It started right back up when i put fuel in it and and put here in neutral , im soooooo stupid. anyway i put the new one in anyway thing it hd about 2500 miles on it. Iv sat on this for 7 years. The guy i bought the bike from was a mechanic, yamaha but a mechanic, said this engine i am selling had about 12000 miles on it. It came from a different bike than the speedometer which had 17630 miles on it. its the old style w/out the oil cooler.

Good: looks real clean inside .drained and pluged holes w rags when pulled but does look dark in exhaust maybe from all the carbon. intakes look very clean
Bad: deffinately needs a new head gasket, had rtv on it and is torn, and a breather cover gasket
Ugly:The two inside headder bolt s were siezed and snipped, ihave cut off and drilled in w/ smaller bit, it needs a reverse bit to pull them out and then be retapped, not hard i just dont have the bit and havent needed to to it cause my engines been running fine until last week( just valve clearance ). I can finish before i ship but will take longer if your in a hurry.

Can also repaint for you say $50, but thats real easy to do yourself be fore you put it in. I cant guarentee it will start right up but it is a whole motor and i will take off $25 for the siezed headder bolt prob.   pics:

Oh and 1 of the cooling blades is a little bent by spark, might be able to straighten but doesnt affect performance in any way. just trying to be as honest as possible.

So $275+ sh just motor , $400+ sh for all

sold, i can finish it myself, i have all winter to do so. I would like to have all parts that come with it.
