If only life were like a video game and you could smash people or their cars, without any real consequences, for doing stupid things like that.  Glad you are ok.

If only life were like GTA (I, II, III..whatever number were on) then you could have dragged her out of the car and beaten the oh my goodness out of her and stole her money

AHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA oh man thatd be great.

respite

Drove the bike home tonight even though its nice and illegal without front turn signals. Couldnt leave it where it was any longer, and no money for a tow as my first round of insurance checks didnt show up today.

Felt a little odd. Wheels are out of alignment, bars are bent, compounded with the first time driving through rush hour traffic in three weeks to the day. Was nice to be back on it. Its going to be hard now walking to the bus stop every morning knowing its just waiting for a few blinking lights before i can ride it again.

Motorcycling really does get under your skin. No wonder its so hard for people to give it up..

respite

Finally received my first check for "pain and suffering" in the amount of 500 dollars. Not bad considering i didnt receive any real injuries and missed no work. I spoke with a few personal injury lawyers as well as a motorcycle specific lawyer and all advised there would be no money from a court case. I was not banged up enough.

Good thing is its more than enough to order a new front cowling, sm2 bars, replacement oem (ugly, but i wont do anything to make me less visible) front turn signals, bolts, and replacement fairing mounting brackets. Ive decided to keep my scratched and cracked side fairings. Was thinking of converting to a naked bike, but i like the look of plastics. Id also say they have offered me a sizable amount of protection in one accident as the right side plastic took the brunt of the impact while the bike slid across the corner of a car bumper, instead of my shin and magneto case..

The womans insurance company finally called today to make an offer on the "total loss vehicle", but i missed the call. I cant wait to hear what they offer.

I'm glad you're doing well and getting the bike back together. I hope they give you enough money for some sweet upgrades.
