FS- 1996 GS500 motor part-out

well i have this motor sitting around and i figured i would get rid of the basics that i dont need now that the bike is gone. shoot me some offers as i have an idea what id like to get for them.

head w/ K.P.M. valve springs. also  shaved to .020 has one bent intake valve that wont seat properly.

Like new set of carbs, these were only used for a couple thousand miles. they are jetted for yoshi pipe and pod filter.- SOLD


Set of Rod and Piston. one rod assmbly will need to be replaced, due to the rod bearing going. piston are in great shape though.

how can i find this out? iv checked them over planty of times and theres no number on either of them to match up with the catalog i have.

their online catalog lists a couple of different profiles.

Are you using stock pistons?  according to their online catalog they only offer one regrind that will work with stock pistons.  if you have aftermarket pistons then I have no idea.

I guess you werent the first owner of the cams?

nope, this was a race motor that only lasted about 1500 miles. it was on its way out when i get it and i just bought a new motor and tore this one down and this is what im left with.

What do you want for the good rod assembly. BTW was the burnt/seized rod and bearing from the left side cylinder?  Seems like every picture, including my seized rod, I've seen for used rod sets is the left rod assembly.  Wonder if there is some oil flow issue to that side?

im looking for 100 shipped for the carbs and as for the rod assembly, i  dont even remember what side it was that the bearing went on. i had the motor torn down by my mechanic and i just picked it up in a box.

yes i still have it, im not sure if it would work, i would imagine so. ill wait for one the gs guru's to confirm this though.

figured as much, these bikes havent changed much since 89 except for adding and oil cooler. let me know if you want the starter, its still in working condition.
