left crankcase cover

would an 89 left crankcase cover fit a 2002? 89 part number is 11351-01D00 and 02 is 11351-01D10

I replaced my busted 1992 magneto cover with one from a 2002.  Some light sanding and a few layers of similar black paint and I was on my way.  If you need to replace the cover due to a wreck, you might also want to make sure that your rotor magnets and all of the epoxy is still intact.
