Nikko G-pack

I was thinking about getting a G-pack for my 07 gs500f but was wondering if anyone knows if it works or if it a big waste of money. Any info would be great. Thanks

I don't see how this would do anything on a GS, we have no rev limiter to by-pass. The box might work on more modern designs where engine characteristics are influenced by a computer but would be a complete waste of money on a GS

You can buy them from any motorcycle store or online. I just dont know if they really make that much of a difference.

Nikko Racing developed the G-Pack module to optimise the performance of engines to the maximum. Particularly during the phases of acceleration from low to mid range.

G-Pack was especially developed to bypass the RPM-limitator installed by the manufacturers in order to conform with local regulations imposed in a number of countries.
The result of this research : maximum torque and power with exceptional acceleration in the low and mid range permitting full exploitation of your engine power band resulting in greater riding pleasures.

G-Pack is composed of an electronic box with dimensions of 45X45X16 mm. It is installed in a few minutes in between the connectors and the ignition box (CDI) of the motorcycle. On account of the compatible pins, it is connected to the original electric circuit without any changes or modifications.

G-Pack can be disconnected in a moment and your motorcycle restored to its original configuration.

Warning : G-Pack changes engine's characteristics and performance. The utilization of the module is not allowed on public roads : its use is strictly meant for competition on closed racing tracks.

hmm,  somehow I dont see this really giving any gains on a GS500.  being the top speed is limited really by your gearing combined with the limited power output of the GS.  its a great idea on bigger and faster bikes such as the GSXR600 or 1000, but not really that great for the GS.

Rev limiter, speed limiter, it makes no difference. Valve float is the GS rev limiter and power is it's speed limiter, it doesn't have electronic devices to override.

Is that does or doesn't? What's timing for 2nd and 3rd gear got to do with top speed? Also how does it advance the timing in 2nd and 3rd gear? The GS500 is a 20 year old design that needs mechanical/physical modifications to improve performance. If you want to improve it electronically, first you'll have to install the electronics to improve upon.

Yeah, your stock GS's most electronically sophisticated part is the turn signal flasher... Everything else is pretty straightforward...

spend $8 for a few jets and a few gstwins decals. really. it's a better improvement.

if you just -have- to spend $141 or you'll die, ok fine, throw it away on the stock market. at least you'll get to watch it tumble !

they DONT make these for older GS's only 04's and up cause we have a TPS sensor the older bike dont they suck ass . in other words its an ignition advancer just computerized not mechanical. older bike will slot their rotor newer bike get this.

ya, his work is nice.

also- ok fine, someone go out, spend $141 on this doo hickey, spend another $500 on dyno time, then show me where it improves the gs's power in real world conditions, you know, shifting up through the rpm range and stuff, not just WOT 3rd gear.
