Canadian Elections?

even this Canadian Politics thread got hijacked by Americans... is there anything you guys don't take over?  

but seriously...

it makes more sense to vote for your MP (member of parliament) than it does goin directly for your head of state. 
1) MPs are local, therefore their decision effect you directly in more ways than just a few
2) if a party has the most good MPs all across the country, then their party runs the country - it makes sense.  Altho I admit it is a bit weird electing say 'The green party' in your district and having the Conservatives win the most seats.  But whatever.

that said... minority govn'ts are useless.  Harper called this election a year ahead of sched because the opposition kept poo-pooing bills, etc.  I'm sick of politicians thrusting their own agenda.  Why not work together to make a good freakin country?  But wait... if the country's in good condition, everyone will re-elect the 'good' party.  In this case, leaving the opposition as the opposition and they'll prob never make it into power.  What's the point in that?  Everyone wants to be PM.  Power hungry, agenda pushers, that's what politicians are.   

The world needs some more MLK/Trudeau types... yes they had hangups but they rallied got shyte done.

i don't think minority governments are useless...i believe the opposite to be true.  it give us balance and we can ensure our Canadian system is maintained.   here in Fredericton i did not run for mp this time because i knew it was a no winner, and i was right.  so i am not preparing for 2012 when i will run for mp in the riding of Fredericton.  i am hoping that we will then have a liberal government and then i can be minister of national defense which is my goal.   2012 is my best shot and i have been waiting years for this opportunity.  being mla, councillor or deputy mayor will all pale in comparison if i can win the seat here under a liberal pm and become a minister.

Let all the lying, cheating, theiving financial magicians and their companies fail.
If they come complaining, I'll offer them 2 options, stay free and hold on to their wealth, but every one of their employees investors and depositers they ripped off get their home address ... all of their home addresss. Or they can turn themselves in and enjoy the benifits of having bubba for a boyfriend ... and all their wealth goes back to the govt, where we will publically confiscate it all ... it be the OJ simpson trial for them ... every move gets on national media. The only thing I'd invest money in, is a freaking radio and TV station ... I'll call it Government vision ... or uncle sam's happy channel ... I haven't decided. I'll bring back debtors prison, and toss everyone who stole from the public in jail. The option if they want to stay out is to pay 100% of what they agreed to. If they were indeed conned into a mortgage (and I dont see how they could have been ...then their mortgage underwriter serves their sentence) In prison, they make toys and other things we have exported to china. One after another everyone fulfils their contract. We cannot throw millions in jail ... well we can if we throw 10 to a cell ... mortgage fraud, and heck all sorts of fraud used to be a crime ... now its a fashon statement. We dont need a bailout, we dont need democrat or republican ... we need someone who will enforce the damn laws we have ... not just the ones that are convenient.
Illegal aliens ... We implement an illegal alien tax. Somethign like 10G/yr oughta do it. 10 people use 1 guys social number ... not a problem, limit 1 SS number to 1 job ... unless they apply and go and get approval for a second or third job where fingerprints and what not will be verified. Trust me, Illegal immigration will come to a grinding halt ... or solve all our problems.
Million ways to do right ... and just as many ways to do it wrong ... and we are debating over who will only do 999,999 things wrong instead of all 1 million.
Finally, I will only serve 1 term ... its declared at the begining ... I dont have to do any damn thing for votes. I publish this right in the begining. Eeveryone gets 30 day notice ... then all the rules get enforced ... all at once ... and yes they get jailed and they are presented with the options on paper.
The system has been gamed ... its time to enforce the rules.

wow im glad the government spent 300 million dollars on an election that got us right back to where we were before......someone screwed up big here.
