My bike needs new brake pads?

When I slow down my bike lunges forward over and over again at slow speeds, and less noticeably but faster at higher speeds. Are my rotors warped or is it just time for new pads? I don't think I have any flat spots in the tires either. I also just got a new chain and front sprocket put on with an alignment. Could something be wrong there? I don't hear any strange noises when this happens.

What color is your brake fluid? You may want to pop the front wheel off and clean out the caliper, take some glaze off the pads and rotor and give everything  a shot of brakekleen. Then change the brake fluid.

Then just change the rear fluid and give everything a shot of brakekleen.

I just did this to my bike and fixed a lot of ride/braking issues. My front brake was dragging so bad that on the stand I couldn't get one complete spin out of it. Should be able to get 2-5 spins no problem before it drags to a stop.

Visually inspect the rotor for warp on the bike. Just Spin the tire and see if it's wobbling.

maybe a bent axle, maybe a warped rotor, maybe bad bearings. i'd bet on the rotor being worn/bent/warped.

you can remove your brake pads and caliper without dropping the front wheel.

check your front rotor's mounting hardware also.
