I'm trying to throw together my bike, but 99% of the bike is a '94 E, and the frame is an '07 F.  So far i've noticed that the seat and tail bodywork don't fit, and the tank is small, but seems to fit OK, but I'm wondering if there will be any fitment issues if i have the '94 tank but get an F model seat

as it (more or less) sits right now:

if the seat is stopping you from puttin on the tank, I'd say don't worry... if the seet doesn't fit they are easy to modify.  You can peel back the cover at the front, trim it down and staple the seat cover back on.

The new plastics are what makes the bike look noice! , i built a 1996 before parting it to get a 2001

i'm not worried about the plastics because they aren't going back on anyhow, and i'm debating whether or not i want to just modify the two mounting brackets (behind the seat latch) instead of dropping another $50 on a seat.  the latch is the same, but the brackets behind the latch are an inch or two higher, so the pin in the bottom of the seat can't reach the latch on the new frame.

bump!

ok so i decided against just modifying the '93 seat when i realized the tank really doesnt fit either. i picked up an F seat for cheeeeeeeeap and am currently looking for an F tank.  is there any way to make the earlier tank fit the newer frame without my ignorant self screwing it up, or is it easier to just try and find a new tank?

other than that issue all i need is a new chain (the one on it was from '93 and appears to not have been cleaned or oiled since then...trash) and bolts for the handlebar, which i didnt have since the bike came with clipons, one of which was bent and had to be cut for me to retrieve my choke lever.
