has any body tried to put rg 250 upside down forks on a gs 500?
and what about a rg250 swing arm?

the rg has been done IIRC, someone here will know the details better than myself. the forks, hell as long as they can carry the wieght, simply if they are the right size, OR the tripples can be swapped over/modded then yes. you can do anyhtign to a gs. the main question is, how much you wanna spend

Not sure why you would want a RG swingarm. A boxed s/a which looks similiar as the GS but it does have better chain adjusters like the SV.

But a RGV is different, which I have done several RGV swingarm conversions (others have done them as well). Got a VJ-23 to sell, with captured spacers for the pivot bearings to fit the GS frame.

Yes it can take a 4.5 Kat rim with a 160 tire, but may need to shift the sprocket outwards at little. It is basically the same as the VJ-22 s/a setup that I have on my 92. The VJ-23 is a Japan only model and is has better chain adjusters, similar to the GSXR. Change the wheel bearings to fit the larger axle. I used bearings for a Bandit 600. I do not have the axle or the caliper hanger.

I have allready brought some parts to mod my 2006 gs 500 f.
will look more like a street fighter I hope. will keep front headlight but have second hand faring to cut down.
new indecators, rear mudguard to cut down, new rear led light with number plate and indecators and new bar mirrors like I have seen on this forum.
not many people mod these bikes in Australia, manly used for commuting. I hope to do the work over the Christmas break.

The RGV s/a will fit in the frame (one of the few that does) but is narrower and the pivot bearing have a larger ID. I have had captured spacers made to make up the difference. The RGV uses a larger diameter axle (19 or 20mm). I have bushings made to use the stock wheel and swapped bearings to use the wider Kat 4.5" wheel. You may need different length dog bones to use the stock shock.

Lunchbox air filter: K&N RU-2970. It replaces the stock airbox with single filter that covers both carbs.
