i can't take that recipe seriously with all teh references to Squirrels...  At some parts I start salivating, others bring out a sort of subtle inward gagging feeling.

"I said other meat could be substituted".  Skin-less  chicken or beef is a GREAT sub. Enjoy.

Squirrels are actually very good to eat.  Very Very good.  Rabbit is awesome.

haven't had any wild game in a long, long time. my father in law told me that somewhere near here, ( can't remember where) they have a wild game all you can eat tasting event thing. he said i'd have to bring my own beer though.    won't be till spring sometime i think he said.

I eat plenty of rabbit but I've never tried squirrel but I don't see why not. I don't have a problem with eating "wild" after all most of the fish i eat is wild.

Squirrels are very tasty but during the dressing process you realize that you are getting ready to eat some sort of rat.   This is helpful however for if you are ever imprisoned by the Taliban you can enjoy a nice healthy meal of dungeon rats.

i had some pheasant a week or so ago.  last fall i shot a wild turkey but the meat was quite dark and gamy.  i have shot turkey before and they were never as bad as this last one was.  it must be the diet.
