So hopefully this the last bent part on my bike. I got a lower triple with 400 miles on it and it's perfectly straight. But i can't find anywhere how to remove the bottom triple and replace it. I searcher this forum and the wiki, any help?

This parts schematic shows what goes where. You may consider picking up a Clymer or Haynes manual. They give fairly detailed r&r instructions for nearly everything on the GS. They also include troubleshooting and general maintenance sections.

thanks man but i already got it all worked out. I just swapped over an entire steering stem with a new triple, worked great. everything i read about having to disconnect this and that is not true. I just removed the wheel and forks, then undid the bolt at the top triple, the one that holds on the cluster and handle bars. then i pulled the cluster and handle bars forward and let them dangle in front. Then here comes teh fun part, that weird nut with teh 4 cutouts that everybody complained about having to buy a tool for, i just used some pliers and it came off with ease, maybe because the bike only has 256 miles on it. then i slid out the old busted stuff, lubed up the new bearings and put the steering stem through. then i just did everything backwards again and voila. it only took about 20 minutes. the bike is straight as hell now, everything is working out great. thanks everyone for the info and the parts.

BTW i have a haynes i was just wondering how to remove the lower triple from the steering stem, i guess i didn't have to.
