Hey guys I'm getting the bike tonight or tomorrow evening.
Info: 11800 KM, no mods, all maintenance complete, 1owner (lady driven), oil changed regularly (semi-synthetic, chain also cleaned and lubed), dropped slightly on left side (very very minor)

The bike's worth/running for $5000, she listed for $4000 but I offered $3500 and its a go, shes really desperate to sell since she finally turned 25 to start being able to afford sportbike insurance (zx6r).

ANYWAYS, if someone could please let me know what to look out for when buying GS500's, that would be great....how can I make sure nothing is wrong with it mechanically. I am pretty sure it is fine since my knowledge is adequete but since you guys already have GS500's I think it would be wise to know some tips ahead of time.
Would appreciate a response as soon as possible, thanks guys (this forum is awesome by the way! :icon_lol: Alot better than my previous CBR125 Forum)

There can't be too much wrong with an '07.  :icon_mrgreen:

It's worth checking, but you shouldn't find any of the common problems:

  • rust in the gas tank
  • dirty carbs
  • high idle
  • fork oil seal leaks
  • worn chain & sprockets
  • or a worn out petcock

Awesome thanks! Gives me a refresher on what to check for.
Anyone else can feel free to add-on, thanks
