Street tires in the dirt

The last time m'boy and I hit the dirt, we took the dirt bikes on knobbies to Metcalf.  But that's cheating a bit.

So we took the bikes in 'tard form to Hollister today.  The rangers were very understanding of Slydrite's plate situation; the plate gave up and left about halfway through the Metcalf ATV track.  I pulled off to pick it up, but it refused to stay on the bike.

We thought Hollister might be sloppy after Saturday's rain, but the cloud that was hanging over the city of Hollister was not over the park.  It was quite sunny and warm at the park.

Having a four-piston Motomaster front brake setup wouldn't be my choice for the dirt, but it was Slydrite's bike.   :icon_razz:

We did the TT track, then hit the trails.  We left the black diamonds behind, but it was great fun sliding around.  We got back on the track.

Slydrite took my Wrecks out on the track to show me how it's done.

But he liked his Drizz better.

He never knows when to say when.  This did not end well.

I prefer my Wrecks.  It's light and flickable.

I really dig that bike.  It's an utter hoot.  With the FMF Q pipe, it's very quiet; I like going stealth.

This was the perfect Monday to cap off a weekend of moto fun.  Saturday morning, Slydrite's work:

Saturday night at our friend Greg's work:

And - Roadstergal has a roadster again.  We picked this up on Sunday.  I just can't stay away from Miatas...  they go super-sideways, especially in the wet twisties.

Cool pics!  And your friend Greg has a nice shop!  I would love to do work like that!

Im so jealous.  I'm dying to have a stable of bikes, wife won't let me have more than one! And I always wanted a roadster too.  Driving a truck my whole life I used to think my wifes 2 door 5sp Accord was a fun car.  But at 6'3'' a miata is not possible.  I miss my Mother in laws 240sx.

It's about an hour and change to Hollister, but it's a nice big area with a lot of tracks and a good selection of trails, so IMO, it's worth the trip. ;)  Metcalf is certainly closer, and we do go there a lot.

I'm surprised a swap is cheaper than rebuilding a rotary.

M'boy's last race car was an RX-7 - the month after we started dating, he took me to a race and won.  That's a good way to get me interested.
