stator output/bike consumption, can you bump start a gs500?

i am thinking about wiring my '02 gs500 with some heated electric stuff.  i was wondering if anyone knew off the top of their head how much juice the stator puts out, or more specifically, how much there is to spare after headlights, etc have used their share.

also, if a guy had a dead battery, could you bump start (compression start) the bike?  i don't really have a good place to rig a volt meter, and on the chance that i were to drain the battery because of using the extra electrics, i was wondering if a good hill would be all i need to get 'er going again.

You can bump start no problem. Just put it in neutral, push it as fast as you can, pull the clutch, shift into second and pop the clutch. Easy. As long as you start pushing in neutral you should be fine.... I've actually done it on flat ground, so you don't really even need a hill... It can be quite the workout if you don't get it started on the first try or if you stall it...

Push starting a GS isnt hard.  Like Fred said,  just start pushing in neutral then pop it up into 2nd and pop the clutch out.   I've found that it helps to jump on the left footpeg to help keep the back tire from just sliding along when you do this too btw.
looking for a new vehicle again.

Yeah, that happened to me. I rolled the bike down my driveway and let the clutch out right as I was going over to the sidewalk and ended up just sliding across the concrete. Then I got to push it around on the flat street in front of my house, which was much less fun...

not much ! the charging isn't much good below 4000 or 4500 rpm. just something to keep in mind.

you could setup a relay and switch to turn off the accessories at stoplights, and while idling.

my understanding of simple electronics is just that - real simple.  i was planning on throwing in an inline fuse and a switch so i can shut off the electric accessories when not in use/idling/if they get too toasty/etc.  do i need a relay?  what exactly does that do for me?
