Considering it's winter and I've got the R6 put away, I'm out of the game unless you guys allow cages.

What I did on the R6 site was to allow the use of cages IF AND ONLY IF there was snow.

How 'bout it?

If my bicycle isn't allowed, your cage DEFINITELY isn't.

Ah.. I forgot about your bicycle...  like I said before, I would have voted yes.

So how about it?  Can Alpha use his bicycle?

Alpha chose not to ride even when the weather was good. And I'd dare say, even while you are getting snowed on, there ain't too much snowing going on in College Station, that I am aware of. I still ride to work in the temps College Station is getting now.

You, An, are a different kettle of fish. You're subject to Snow and way below freezing. And even though I see a photo of your blue beast parked on dirty snow, the road itself looks clear and I don't understand why you cannot still ride. BUT, I don't live in such a climate. I am like Mary. And I'd have to travel probably a thousand miles south (we are under the equator so south is colder) and then head to the mountains, to get snow. So how about this, An... you can use your car to Travel to the target BUT your bike must still be in the pic. Now, as a "packed away for the winter" bike is not really an easy thing to lug around, how about a Die Cast model of your bike - a 6. So put the die cast 6 on your bonnet or something and take the snap showing the snow too. That way your bike is still in the game. - Or just have the die cast 6 in the image with snow.

I've looked for a die cast GS500 but can only find die cast GSXR.

It's true, the only snow we got here this year was pretty minimal. At the same time, however, I too ride every day, in colder temperatures than we're getting now as well. While my bike may be different, I'm still out there on two wheels every day, dodging cagers who don't see me, pull out in front of me, and generally don't respect my right to the road. It simply isn't practical or economical for me to ride my motorcycle around here when everything I need, want, or use is within a mile or two from where I live.

The roads may LOOK clear, but that's the highway...  the speed of the cars going by kinda blows MOST of the sand and salt away.  Once you hit city streets, you get salt and sand everywhere.

It's still BELOW freezing here, so riding is not an option... considering when the temp DOES get high enough, the snow melts a little.  When that happens, the roads are wet.  Wet roads and sand/salt/dirt aren't a good mix for bikes.  Then when it drops below freezing again, that same water freezes again, creating black ice.

Black ice: road conditions that just look WET, but are infact iced over.  It's the most dangerous road condition that doesn't involve other vehicles IMO.

Soooo, am I gonna have to get this. BTW we will have Mid 30's this weekend what I get for bragging eh? Sometimes, I think it is worse to have a 40 degree tempreture change over 24-48 hours then for it to just stay the way it is either hot or cold (well cold for us)!

We had low 30s today, of course our top of 31.3 is about 88.5 in your scale.

Anyway, back to the game:

Next Challenge:Your bike under a street sign with your name on it. First or last name is fine.

mister

sblack:

We kinda already had this...

Your bike with your name on a sign in the background. Completed by JB848 http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=45412.msg569647#msg569647

But the challenge was "a sign" and not the more specific "street sign". So the challenge Could have been completed with a sign that said "Robert's Cleaning" or it could have been the name on a park or the side of a building like a church "St Robert's Cathedral'. So I'm good with the specific Street Sign.

Geeze, Alpha. Least you could have pushed it across the road so it was By the dumpster  :flipoff:

Fixed Gear Bicycle... is that one of those where you pedal back to brake or totally fixed where there is no free running on the front sprocket?

Haven't seen either of those types of bike since ... well, let's just say a lo-o-o-o-o-ong time.  :icon_mrgreen:

Think I'll be out of this one.

Fixed gear is one gear up front on the cranks, the chainring, and one gear fixed to the wheel on the back, the cog. The bikes you pedal back to brake are called coaster brakes. I am specifying totally fixed, no coasting allowed.

Examples:

What's the benefit for those types of bicycles? Besides exercise.  :dunno_black:

This is the first time I've heard of this type of bike.

I haven't been following this game at all, but there wasn't much going on here tonight, so I checked out the last page and figured I'd jump in, because I could handle this one. The GS with my wife's 85' Schwinn Madison. She tried to ride it to work today because she couldn't get her car out of her spot with all the snow, apparently it didn't go well....

Anyway, I haven't been following this, so let me browse this for a couple minutes before I post a challenge, so I don't repeat!
