There once was a challenge involving a policeman and a bike While you were getting a ticket.

Of course, no-one got it. But today I managed to get this...

Traffic controller obstructing side mirror. Nice. The other traffic controller whom I talked to about getting another pic of something with 3 wheels, said about the LEO Photo... I didn't see you take it HA!

Oh, in case you're wondering... they have police present when they close off lanes in this city. It's amazing how people will ignore the Slow Down signs, the reduced speed limit signs and everything - but - as soon as they see the flashing police lights they slow right down.

Anyway... the Vehicle with three wheels is this contraption...

I had tried to get a Palfinger Crayler (pictured below) cause I see them on the backs of trucks everywhere, and occasionally, unloading trucks too. But I couldn't find any just sitting on the ground.

Anyway does this Roller count Paulcet or should we wait for Mary to get her shot up first seeing as she said she'd already gotten it?

I reckon (with time zone adjustment) that its over 24 hours since Mary should have posted her pic.  Suggest you go for it Michael - get posting.  Hope Mary's ok.

Dang.... didn't even think other countries might not know what a  rainwater tank was...

A rainwater tank is a tank - size varies from say 1000 liters (250 gallons) to many Thousands of liters (such as a 20 thousand liter - 5000 gallon tank). They usually sit somewhere near a dwelling and the downspouts feed the water from the gutter direcetly into the tank. This way, the water can be used for watering the garden, flushing the toilet, drinking, etc. Here are some pics of them in backyards....

There are rainwater tank manufacturers whose Holding Yard is full of them. They can also be bought at Large Hardware Stores. And I am also seeing them out front of businesses whose buildings are too large to warrant getting a crane in to lift it to the back - I'll take a couple of snaps today to show you.

Hmmm, another one that doesn't transalte to Scotland.  Noone really needs raintanks here.  If we ever came close to running out of water, we'd just wait a day!

This is what the rainwater tanks look like - taken this morning on the way to work

But as no-one seems to have rainwater tanks except us Aussies - interestingly, after doing a Google the results were almost all .com.au which is Australia - then default to Mary's challenge...

I have heard of rainwater tanks here in the US but have never seen one in person.  They are part of the lets make the world a greener place movement by reusing the water that we can collect from what drains off of our roof.  I believe some of the major cities have them stored on the rooftops of vasious buildings but hasn't taken off as far as residental use atleast not yet here in the US.

Easy to find in Bermuda, for one, though you mostly only see the tops of them (mostly buried and concrete). Saba for another. Probably any island without adequate size/terrain to store water in the ground, but adequate rain to bother collecting it when it rains. "Cistern" is perhaps a more common term for them, though it's not technically specific to rainwater. "Rain barrels" will get you the ~200L size used by gardeners in places where it really rains fairly frequently, and/or simply because they are small and cheap (surplus), thus easy to bodge onto a downspout without much planning. On islands it's pretty typical to have, in addition to roofs, carefully stuccoed rock formations or areas of hillside serving as extra collection area for larger installations.

I have lived in 3 houses with water tanks, in one house that was our only source of water, i was also at a friends place over the weekend and they only had tank water didn't ride the bike or have internet so that made it a little hard to post a pic

and here is another useless piece of info  the people making the first military tanks in WW2 were told they were making water tanks after they were completed the name tank has stuck and that became the name.

Stinks like a poorly written urban legend. Especially considering the WWI (aka WtEaW, up until WWII) tanks...

Tanks http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tank ... "During construction, to conceal their true identity as weapons, they were designated as water carriers for the Mesopotamian campaign and referred to as "tanks" (as in "water tank")"...

Be sure to also read the Etymology for possible Other sources of the name.

Now... who here has a Team Jersey???...
