As many of you know I've got a few medical problems and came across this in a motorcycle magazine today. I think this would be great for any motorcyclist esp. if you have any medical problems. I already have a medic alert bracelet but the info this provides is as little or as much as you want. Just wish the price was a little less!

+1 trillion
They have usb jumpdrives that do the same.  I dont know about price.  Its a good idea even for those with no health problems.  Put your vital info on there.  Full name, SSN, Normal Blood pressure and pulse rate,  Any allergies, blood type if (god forbid) you need some, and if applicable, religious preference. Kinda like an advanced dog tag info wise. I know plain dog tags can save your ass in a bad accident. The more info you can give someone while unconcious, the better for you. No wasted time on blood work and shizzle.

I saw these in motorcyclist magazine,  they're an AWESOME idea.  I'm looking into them for myself and my mom.  could be the thing that saves your life in a wreck when EMS needs info and you're out cold.

I'll have to take a look at those... Also, for those of you worried about transfusions, you can always donate blood... Most blood banks will cover the cost of a transfusion, if you should need one, up to a year after you've donated... I'm a fan of donating platelets myself, it takes longer but doesn't make you sleepy and you get to watch a movie... I also have a crazy high platelet count, so they start calling me if I haven't donated in a few weeks...

why not just buy a cheap little usb drive. You can put in a text file that holds all the information and it isn't limited to just being used on a windows machine. I'll admit that it isn't as secure as the UTag method, but is universal and cheaper :)

this is also a good idea, and you can be just as selective about what info you put on it.    You would need to put some sort of symbol on it though that is universally known to be a medical symbol though.

Yeah,

I actually have kinda of done that. On my Key chain I have a SurfBoard USB drive that I wrote Emergency on it and got wet once and was dead. I also have a medic alert bracelet that says "see wallet card" but problem with that is I don't update as often as I should and is outdated most of the time. Better than nothing I suppose. Also, make sure whatever you use that it has the "Star of Life" on it otherwise EMTs may not notice it. Trust me as an ex-EMT in a bad situation it is hard to notice even some of the more exotic bracelets that look like regular gold bracelets.

Good technology and as soon as I can afford one will get!
