Hi all,

has anyone removed their PAIR system? Modified it? Does anyone know when is it operational, and does it affect WOT performance?

Am i the only one who knows what the PAIR is?

Thanks,
Matt

If I understood correctly, the OP is asking about the California emissions equipment on a 2004 GS500F. A few people have removed the PAIR system (a quick search should turn up some threads).

I found this description here (note: link opens pdf): http://www.autoshop101.com/forms/h65.pdf

There is some related discussion here: http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=37759.msg424659#msg424659

And for further reference, here's a removal guide for the RC51: http://www.rc51.org/pair.htm

The system should be operational whenever the bike is running. The main function of the system is to inject air into the exhaust - I don't see why this would have any impact on performance at wide open throttle (WOT) or at any other time.

It wouldn't have any effect other than reduced emissions- the fuel it is injecting the air to burn off is already past the engine where it would do any good so why not burn it off? I'd leave it be.

I don't really know about on the quads but I do know that on every bike equiped with a pair valve we just remove the valve and put a block-off plate there.

I love how Suzuki dubbed it the "PAIR" valve and ignored the "S" that would have f%&ked up the acronym.
