I've used mostly Fram filters for almost ten GS500 years now and the CH6000 Frams have always had metal end caps.  The Autozones around here used to carry the STP brand MC oil filters and their SMO-00 filter for the GS was identical to the Frams, even had the same manufacturers part number stamped on one of the metal end caps.

Only complaint around this board about the Frams has been the o-ring type gaskets being a bit too small but they are easily retained in the groove by applying ample grease to them to stick them in the groove.

I started using Frams on cars about 40-50 years ago.  When I started driving 60 years ago most cars didn't have oil filters and we were adding aftermarket bypass types made by Fram, I went to work in an auto repair garage when I was 15, worked full time summers and part time winters thru HS and College.

I must have done about 50 GS500 Fram oil filter changes in the past 140k miles.
407,400 miles in 30 years for 13,580 miles/year average.  Started riding 7/21/84 and hung up helmet 8/31/14.
