It sucks.......
I've been sick since Sunday.  Throwing up everything I eat and chugging gatorade like it's going out of style to keep some fluids and electrolytes in me.

sucks to get the flu, the wife gets it or the shot every year.  I havn't had it since i was 3 and almost died.  I got a flu shot once and was sick for 2 weeks, haven't had one since.

relax, feel better and keep the fluids up, soon enough you should be able to hold a meal in for more than a few minutes

MOTHER F#$%#^$%^$&ING FLU!!!! I've never had it in my life til this week. WHAT THE HELL????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had so many deadlines and so much crap due this week that it all went to the pits of the universe because of this G$%^$%^ damned virus. grrr. I feel for all of you out there. I thought I was going to die! I have never been bedridden since I was a kid and this knocked me on my butt! Now I have bronchitis on top of it. Thanks lovely immune system. No more licking door knobs and toilet seats for me....just kidding.

Caffeine

Congratulations!

I got it Thanksgiving morning, exactly in the middle of a 7.5 hour drive to see the family for Thanksgiving dinner.  I actually passed out on the side of the road before I started puking my guts out.  From then on, everything I drank ran right through me...out the back door.   No matter how much I drank, I didn't even pee for 6 hours.  It all went out the back way, in liquid form.   I was NOT a happy camper!  I turned around and went home, then slept for 16 hours straight.

Immodium is your friend in times like this.  Keep drinking water and Gatorade.  And rest.
On those days when life is a little too much and nothing seems to be going right, I pause for a moment to ponder the wise last words of my grandfather:  "I wonder where the mother bear is?"

Flu=Jealous Lover=Heroin........................just don't wanna "let go of you".

That sucks man. I hope you get to feeling better soon. Stay under warm covers and be stronger than the bastard that has ahold of thee. This may sound stupid BUT.............make you some hot tea, drink it and see if you can "keep down" some bread or buttered rolls.
The tea should "settle your stomach" and the bread will give you something to shaZam! besides water. Believe me, I know the feeling.
I hope you get better soon.

Thought I'd point out since I've read mention of the flu shot a few times.

There's two big things to keep in mind about the flu shot:

First, just because you got a flu shot doesn't mean you won't get the flu.

Second, aluminum has been linked to Alzheimer's Disease.  Flu shots all contain aluminum.  Having five consecutive annual flu shots or having eight or more within a ten year period has been has been proven to do irreversible neurological damage of the variety that is most often associated with Alzheimer's Disease.

While I don't like being sick, I want to remember my wife and kids when I'm old.  Flu please, hold the shots.

Found out the hard way I'm allergic to it! Was working in the hospital so was offered one for free. Thought why not since I'm high risk with my heart. Stopped by my floor talked to my boss felt a little itchy didn't think much of it. Was driving home and felt "odd" stopped by primary physician and told them I didn't feel right. Receptionist said sit down and she would work me in woke up nine hours later in ICU! Thay said my allergy was really weird because I'm not allergic to eggs.

Isn't it great to be "weird". Amazingly everytime I go in the hospital they try to give me the flu shot. Gotta watch these idiots I tell ya!

^My wife has been reading up a lot about vaccines.  Its gotten big in the media lately about how some vaccines are linked to autism so she started doing research...we're having a baby in May so she figured it was worth at least looking at.  Anyway, the more crap she reads and tells me about (which she is not prone to exaggeration or overreaction) the more I think it's good idea to carry a card around with me at ALL times that lists certain things that I want done and do not want done.

When I ride, I usually have a tag around my neck that has my name, contacts, blood type, allergies, etc.  I think it'd be smart to carry it at all times and have shaZam! on it like "do not administer Flu vaccines" and such.

You should really see what they subject infants to right off the bat.  I mean, I've seen it done...it's just a couple of shots...but it's never crossed my mind how much crap they're actually putting into that tiny body.

Kaizer

You should still vaccinate your baby since a lot of supposed "extinct" diseases have been cropping up because parents are choosing NOT to vaccinate their young....and they DIE of t hese diseases. I don't like vaccines, but I would rather know my child isn't going to die from something that could have been prevented in the first  place. Also, the chance of autism is very low and there isn't a direct link to vaccines. Just use jurisprudence in the future. that's all.

No no, Kaizer, you misunderstand.  It's not a matter of simply not vaccinating.  It's also not so much as choosing what vaccines your baby gets for various reasons.  The big thing is choosing WHEN your baby gets them and choosing what brands are given.  It's all a matter of research and if you're expecting you should look into it.

I feel better-ish.  Saw a doc the other day who said the GI flu strain has been of the 2 week variety this year , I managed to keep down about 2000 calories today. :embarrassed:
Took it real easy, laid on the couch and watched movies all day.

That is correct. I just wanted to make sure we were on the same page. NOT all vaccines are created equal. Good luck!

Ughh, still feeling this thing.   :embarrassed:  Appetite is still ridiculously low (I'm forcing 2000 calories down and usually have to limit myself to 4k-4500)  Well, time to pop in the Blue Collar DVD, bring in the dog and bundle up......the low tonight is 57.

spc

Almost felt normal today, though my appetite is still a shadow of its' former self.
Repeating last nights events but with the MASH DVD that came from blockbuster today :thumb:
