It's almost a bike project... will have a GS500 engine...

Frame

Rear swingarm

Front swingarms

Although it's sort of a summer project for me, being in Australia.

If it's not bikey enough I will remove from this thread.

It's a single seater off-road buggy... I guess at the moment it does look sort of like a boat

Here is a pic of what is should look like when finished (but in flat black all over)

The bike I am looking at buying is this:

'06 model with 9,500km on it. Slight cosmetic damage at the front

No! I think it's really cool!

Keep adding pictures as the project progresses. In fact, I'd suggest starting a new thread on this topic.

Let's see, it all about how I'm going to get this all done between winter break, possibly into spring break:
-check valves
-rebuild carbs
-install lunchbox filter
-anti-rust gas tank
-replace and bleed brakes
-re-clearcoat tank
-new decals
-install SV headlamp
-repaint & rebalanced wheels
-some more stuff that I might feel compelled to do.

Weston's GS:

*FIX IT!!!

Maybe a sweet custom exhaust if i get time and access to welding gear.

I've gotta do a lot of cleaning up on my GS, I haven't had it on the road yet. So far the list of things it needs are:

battery
front fork seals
cleaning up wiring
seat cover
Tune up

I'm also helping my girlfriend rebuild her CT70 so I'll have plenty to tinker on. I just finished up my ATC70 and before that I brought a basketcase banshee back to life.

Yes, I am buying (if it doesn't sell for too much at auction) the whole bike. I am in Australia so the current exchange rate would mean that it would be at a very reasonable price too. I have no idea about shipping though. I'll send you a PM if I get the bike (auction on the 11th December) and you still want the parts.

Tang

oh dang thats right australia man....nvm haha

shipping has to be mad crazy

What are superbike bars? do you have a pic? Price?
Do they easily install on the gs500f?

Quote from: Danny500 on October 07, 2008, 10:10:40 PM
My bike will tentatively be getting the following over the non-riding months:

Yosh, Scorpion or Akrapovic shorty slip on (possibly full Jardine or V&H if I bite the bullet)
K&N insert
Lots, of jetting/carb tuning.
150 Conti Attack rear tire
110 Conti Attack front tire
Sonic-Springs .90 or .95 (220lb rider sometimes with 2 up)
Superbike bars.
Yamaha R1 rear taillight 00-02' LED

After that, She'll be finished. I hope.
