Partial winterizing?

I live in Albuquerque, NM where the weather is totally unpredictable.  It can be 20 and snowing one day, and 56 and sunny the next.  I have put my bike away until at least after the new year (will be out of town for a while).  Is there anything I should do to "partially" winterize it?  I imagine that when I return after the new year, there will be at least one day a week i'll be able to ride, so I don't want to completely winterize it.

What i've done so far is just make sure the oil and fuel are topped off and put it up on its center stand and covered it.

I'm in the same situation. The temperature here doesn't fluxauate as much as there, but it makes putting my bike up for the Winter a hard decision. I added sta-bil to my full tank of gas and thats been about it. I've already ridden all that gas out and I may not put any more in.

I would suggest at least fuel stabilizer, drain your float bowls, and keep your battery on the charger if you don't plan on riding for at least a week. If you ride your bike at least once a week like I do, you shouldn't have to worry about all the extras that come with winterizing a bike.

I would remove or atleast disconect your battery... You can get a charger if you want, but mine has lasted 3-4 months just sitting and I put the bat in and fire it right up  :thumb:

Alright, i'll remove the battery.  is there a specific kind of stabilizer you recommend?  I see all kinds of them at teh auto store and never know which one might be better than the other.
