As I posted before my 02 GS500 was stolen out of my garage on dec. 5. They broke into my locked garage and must have carried away the bike because I had a disk lock on the front wheel. It was insured by AAA with a 500 deductible. They determined the value at $2,005, lowest value. then my deductible 500, and state taxes. So, I will be recieving around $1,750. I know I could have sold the bike for 2,500. I had dailed the bike out and it was in top condition. Insurance doesnt come close to the value of the bike, but more important to me the bikes value was in the work I had put into it and the fun I had with it. I lost a good friend, and insurance cant pay for that kind of stuff. I hope this gives everyone an idea of what to expect if your bike gets stolen, which I hope never happens; dont expect insurance to be close to the value of the bike. Here is another picture of the bike, the last time I will post it. I hope everyone has a safe holiday, take care all

I know it's a little inappropriate, but can I ask you how much did you pay for the insurance? (per year or per month)
I only have liability insurance, and after I read your first post about stolen bike it got me to think about the additional insurance.(I am quite sure though, that it will be around $2000 per year in NY which is CRAAAZY)

I hope you will find a new bike soon and fall in love again  :thumb:

cheers

Down in Florida my insurance is 33 bucks a month. Now that does not include medical. Because my bike is financed I also purchased GAP insurance for 200 extra. So whatever Progressive does not cover the GAP will. Didn't want to get stuck paying more than it is worth.

I'm paying $69 a year to Progressive for Comprehensive and Liability, (No Medical -I have Health Insurance through work) with roadside assistance.
Bike is paid for. So, I didn't get Collision. I Figured if I'm in an accident and it was the other persons fault, their insurance would pay. If it is my fault, then I deserve to pay for my own damages.

I pay $156 a year from Progressive for full coverage with $500 deductible.  I have my wife's car and mine insured with them too, so I get a little more discount from them.
